Isn't it funny how the simplest things make you the most happy? Or maybe I'm just easy to please. Ella was having a hard time falling asleep tonight, so I decided to go lay by her for awhile. (Gasp!! What!? I know I broke some modern parenting commandment, I'm sure, but its just not something I care about.) It made her so happy and so much more calm to have me there. She reached out and held my hand and I just watched her slowly drift off to sleep. Every now and then she would smile a sleepy smile at me and sigh. Then her eyes would flutter shut again. My cat came wandering in, feeling left out. She curled up behind my knees and promptly began to purr. I love a good purr. I think she was also trying to hold hands, because she placed her paw on my leg. I reached down and covered it with my hand and she rested her chin on top off it. She closed her eyes and purred so hard my leg vibrated.
So I just laid there. Watching my daughter sleep and enjoying Molly's purr. And I just felt truly happy. Isn't it funny how that happens? Something so simple or common seems so wonderful?
What is your wonderful, simple moment?

In the Saddle Again
I'm baaaaccckkk!
Not in a Christina Aguilera girl empowerment kind-of way, but in a "i'm baaaaccckk" dododooo twilight zone kind-of way.
Last night the clouds parted and a sliver of moon-light shined on me and wallllaaaa I could (temporarily) breathe out of two nose holes again. It makes one downright giddy to have the use of the complete olfactory system.
Nothing makes me feel more like rounding-up Bonnie and Clyde for a rendezvous at the local Walgreen's to heist nose spray, than the inability to breathe through my nose.
Hope comes to blah blah blahg. No more holidays, birthdays, weddings or other distractions to deter my mindless ramblings. Not to mention the use of two nose holes will lead to a greater quantity of posts. Just remember, quantity, not quality.
Here's to hope and deep-breathing. See you again soon.

New Subject
Due to the fact that: my sister has neglected blah blah blahg, and I have nothing interesting to say; this blog has remained untouched for sometime. And as it is 3 o'clock in the morning and I can't sleep, we all get to be subjected to my night time ramblings.
A few of my favorite things lately:
The weather. I love cold and deary days. I do. But after a month of them I can honestly say, I am happy to see the warmer weather!! I'm afraid by admitting that out loud, my mother may now have a hit on my name! Am I now admitting that I like the desert conditions? Gasp! Say it ain't so!
I LOVE ZUMBA!! It kicks my butt in a serious way! And I love a good work out. I sweat like an animal, and it makes me sore. A good sore, not that, "why did I make this choice; I hate exercise" sore. I initially did NOT want to got to this class. You see, I am not so good at the dancing. But I went to stop my sister from badgering me about it! And it was so much fun!! And such an awesome work out!
I am so excited to start gardening. I don't do vegetables or anything like that. I wish I did, but I just don't have the dedication to coax them through the heat, only to yield an assortment of food I don't ever eat. But I love to do flowers. Rose bushes are my favorite. Why you might ask? Because, surprisingly, they are hard to kill! I didn't water mine for 2 months, a good rain came, and they bloomed! Suh-weeeeet!
Anyways, I couldn't stand the same old post on here any longer, and I can't sleep. SOOO here you are!!

Christmas Memories
I thought I would have a festive post!! So I am listing some of my Christmas memories for every one to enjoy and/or scoff at.
1. The time I SWORE I heard Santa rustling the tree. My sister told me she would go check, and sure enough he had been there. She let me creep around the corner and see the candy canes he had put on the tree. :)
2. My brother and I woke up at 1:30 am and couldn't go back to sleep. We worked ourselves into a fit of excitement and giddiness so intense we would bury our faces in our pillows and squeal.
3. My sister reading us Christmas stories. She always made sure each character had its own voice.
4. Waking in the middle of the night with a raging fever. I was 12 and yet I still didn't dare walk past the tree into my parents room to get my mom. So I lay there praying with all my might for my mom to come to me and kept hallucinating that she had. Eventually my prayers worked and she came to check on us. The same year my dog Koby felt bad for me that I was sick so he layed by the couch all morning to make sure I wasn't alone.
5. The Charlie Brown tree we desperately purchased on Christmas Eve.
6. My Grandpa's deep love of Christmas and all his joy during that season. He had a giant stocking he hung up every year, telling us he hoped Santa would fill it.
I love Christmas!! Garish, tawdry, red, green, gold and reindeer everywhere. I do not enjoy chic' Christmas, where everything is tasteful and perfect. I like cheap plastic Santas and funny looking trees and whatever lights you find in the garage up on your house!! I REFUSE to say Happy Holidays, so MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

My Top 3 Most Humiliating Sundays
In order
#1 Turning 12 is landmark. No longer a little primary child. The bishop calls you up to the front of the congregation you stand in front of everyone and are graduated from the ranks of childhood to Young Women's. It's terrifying and wonderful all at the same time. Well, I was so mature and wise and ready for this momentous occasion that after going back to sit by my family I slapped my sister for sitting in my seat,
right
in
front
of
EVERYONE!
Then I realized what I did and burst into tears of sorrow and humiliation, hyperventilated and had such an awful come-apart my mother had to take me home. Yay for being a big 12-year-old!
#2 After church we stopped by my granny's and she loaded us up with a pan full of half-frozen meat. (Okay I just read that sentence and I realize it may be hard to explain-so I'm not going to.) All you need to know is that it was a VERY blustery day and cold and did I mention I was holding a ginormous slab of frozen cow bloodily defrosting in a pan. Oh yes, I think I did say that. Anyway, as I step out of the car in my own driveway I realize two things...
1-it is not a good day to wear a broomstick skirt (remember those) with only boots. No tights, no slip, not even socks. Just boots
and
giant, blue, granny panties
that were on display for the teenage boys sitting in the car behind me.
Thanks to mother nature's hurricane like wind conditions, my skirt was blown completely over my head and
2-thanks to the meat pan I had no hands to save my dignity. The boys collected a lot more than a charitable contribution that day.
#3
Today
Everything wrapped up a little early in church and by default I had to play the closing hymn. Which was fine, until the book closed halfway through the song, while everyone was singing. I then became so nervous I started shaking like a leaf and lost control of my fingers and then the book closed again. Talk about a train wreck. I don't even know if I played half of the notes right. I had to stop between verses and find my place in the confounded book. I wished for a sink-hole to open up and deposit me and the piano a couple of feet beneath the congregation at least then I could have been justified in my disaster. The irony of it all? Guess what the song was?
Let us All Press On
haha
I can laugh at the above two but don't speak to me of number 3. It took at least 15 years for the other two incidents to marinate into humor and I'm thinking it will take that long before I can press on.
If you care to share your humiliating moment go ahead, but if its still marinating, let it.

Seriously???
I know I have the intendency to use blah blah blahg for my own ranting page. And every time I do I swear I will start using it for good and not evil. BUT today I have had it. Came to my last straw, that broke the camel's back. I have hit my wall. Am at the end of my rapidly fraying rope.......
IF IT DOES NOT COOL OFF SOON I AM GOING TO TAKE IT PERSONAL, GET IN MY TRUCK WITH MY BABY AND DRIVE AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I WILL DRIVE FAST AND NEVER LOOK BACK!!
So please Mother Earth, let us cool down. A little. Please?

It's Here!!!!
Tomorrow is Election Day!! The day we as American vote for our leaders. The day we head to the poles with sample ballot in hand, anxiously waiting our turn to vote. As a democracy this comes with great pride and responsibility as we prepare to choose the individuals responsible for our nation and its outcome.
But the NUMBER 1 reason I am so excited?........................
BECAUSE THEN I DO NOT HAVE TO WATCH ANY MORE DAMN POLITICAL ADDS THAT ARE ALL SLANDER AND LIES ANYWAY!! TWO YEARS BEFORE I HAVE TO LISTEN TO ANY MORE OF THAT CRAP CLOG UP THE VISUAL WAVES!!
And that right there should make everyone excited.
*Note: If you have a problem with the word Damn, please take it up with your senator. :)
